The Participatory Assessment of the Land Tenure Situation of Indigenous Peoples in Guyana gathers findings from participatory research conducted in Regions 1, 2, 7, 8, and 9. Key recommendations from communities highlighted in the report will be shared in order to inform government policies.
The Amerindian Peoples Association’s new Geographic Database will host spatial data pertaining to the lands and lives of indigenous people in Guyana. A first of its kind in the region, the maps will be updated continuously by APA and partner organizations including the North Pakaraimas District Council, the South Rupununi District Council, the Upper Mazaruni District Council, Moruca District Council and others.
